Short introduction

SQL Assistant v13.0 contains multiple new features and enhancements, among them is built-in SSH client for tunneled connections. The changes are described with more details in the sections below.

New major features and significant enhancements

  1. Integrated support for SSH tunneled connections using built-in SSH client.
  2. New add-in for SQL Server Management Studio 20.x.
  3. Encrypted connections and data at rest for supported database systems.
  4. Advanced Explain Plan for MariaDB.
  5. Streamlined generation of SQL scripts from data in data-grids.
  6. Enhanced report generation from data in data-grids, including copying styles, formats and conditional formatting.
  7. Explain Plan integration with table and index reports for advanced query plan analysis.
  8. New graphical Oracle Job Scheduler.
  9. SQL Intellisense enhancements supporting latest features available in PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB, Snowflake, and SparkSQL.
  10. New and enhanced SQL References for the latest versions and features available in PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB, Snowflake, and SparkSQL.

Miscellaneous

  1. UI enhancements - colored tabs for different database connections, supported in SQL Assistant Professional IDE.
  2. Hiding columns in data-grids.
  3. Improved support for secure connections over SSL, certificate validation, Microsoft Entra authentication, multi-factor authentication, and data security at rest.
  4. Code preprocessor enhancements, smarter treatment of custom unrecognized directves and avoiding collisions.
  5. A number of other minor improvements and bug fixes.
