[11.3.279 Pro] - BUG: button for add new step does not work |
|
The Add new row button on the far right side in Server Alerts and Scheduled Jobs > Add New Job > Job Properties > Steps does not work. It does not add a new row for the step properties to be added to, all it does is it disables the Edit row button down below. Which should not be active in the first place as there are no rows added by default, which in turn, is perhaps a bad default. While it is possible to create a job without steps, the process usually doesn't end there, so having a new empty row there without having to click any buttons makes sense.

When you click the Add button first, it adds new placeholder row for a new job step to the end of the steps list and automatically switches to the Step Properties tab where you can edit the properties. If you don't change anything and return to the Steps tab, the Add button won't add another placeholder, because there is one already. You can either doubleclick that placeholder row or click the Edit button to return to the step editing. Once step name or something else is entered, the Add button can add another step. If nothing is entered, on Save, the blank placeholder row will be removed automatically.
Note, it uses controlled "fulfillment" method in order to automatically recalculate step actions and sequencing and ensure that the last step is actually the step when the job completes and not a previous step that was last before new step was added. Steps can be also rearranged and inserted as needed.

Yes, that all makes sense but something doesn't work properly. When I click the Add button and select Job I get the Job Properties Tab active and see multiple sub-Tabs on that panel Steps being one of them. Time Triggers and Event Triggers sub-Tabs have a similar grid view as Steps, and hitting the same Add new row button there yields dialogs for both of them. Doing the same on Steps sub-Tab does nothing (or at least nothing visible) besides disabling the Edit row button.
Check this short video here.

Thank you very much. After watching your video I managed to reproduce the issue. It's obviously a bug. We will try to fix it as quickly as possible.
