BUG: 9.2.349 Script DDL "output to new code pane" |
|
Trying to script a small DB to a new code pane using the "output to new code pane" option, the task manager pops up but never does anything. If I script it to a file it works as expected.

Are you referring to data scripting or DDL?
Are you using "Export to" menu or something else?

Just right click "script ddl" on a database. When the output option is set to new code pane the script containing the DDL code never comes up. Scripting output to file it all ends up in the file.

I can reproduce that too. Something seems to be fishy. I think that option is for data scripting only, at least that's what it was for in previous versions. I'm going to log this case for further analysis.

Isn't that what the "script data" option right above it in the right click menu is for ?

That issue has been confirmed as a bug, basically it's a side effect of another change exposing options that haven't been implemented for what they are used for, causing an internal exception aborting the processing. That issue actually impacts other use cases too. But the good news our current estimate is that fixing that issue seems to be require fairly minimal effort. The fix is expected to available in the next version. For now, please avoid using that option.
