[SA 9.0.166 Pro] - Unable to compare jobs |
|
The Next button stays disabled after selecting both source and destination in Job Compare dialog.

Please try the following method
Select Schema Compare instead of Jobs Compare
Select Server scope
Select 2 servers
In the Schema Compare Rules select SQL. Server Jobs for both servers
Click Next
Does that work for you?

Well, I can't properly check that because there's nothing else in my reach but localdb instances and those lack Server Agent and jobs. But this method runs all the way through and while not yielding any useful results (no jobs to compare), my bet is that it would work. Thanks for the tip. Isn't that button Compare Jobs... supposed to be a shortcut for the steps you described?

Yes, it is. I assume there some kind of an issue that is causing the Next button to remain disabled while it should be enabled. Maybe it cannot locate msdb database or something else like that making ti consider selected connections as incompatible. I have logged it in our tracking system for further investigation.

Great, thanks. Until then your workaround will suffice.
