[SA 7.2.338 Pro] - Source Code Repository Connection |
|
Whenever I open a new tab in SQL Editor the Source Code Repository Connection dialog pops up, even if I don't have Source Code set up for that particular type of DB. Is there a way to turn that off? It's frustrating.

In the Database Navigator view, please right-click and uncheck Show Source Control Status option. That should od it.

I'm not aware of any other options that require source control and trigger connection dialog. I would suggest trying to reload default SQL Assistant settings.

I did a little research and you were right, it was the Show Source Control Status option. It also revealed that there is an inconsistency between the settings set in SA - Options and the way they're shown/used in SQL Editor. When I right-clicked the Database Explorer, the context menu item Show Source Control Status was unchecked, but when I opened SA - Options > DB Options > SQL Assistance > Database Explorer for the corresponding DB, the Show Source Control Status option was set to 'Yes' there. I set it to 'No' and it's fine now.

Thank you very much for your research and feedback. I have submitted a bug report for the discrepancy between the state of that option in DB Explorer and in the Options.

It turned out that behavior is by design. The two Show Source Control Status options have different scope and the value in the Options dialog is common for all targets while in DB Navigator it's scoped just for the current connection. I had to update the ticket and ask to alter that behavior to make it less confusing.

That makes sense. Still, it was a bit confusing. Thank you very much.
