[SA 7.0.158 Pro] Keyboard highlighting bug |
|
Hi,
I've noticed with SA 7 (and even SA 6) with SQL Server 2012 (on a 64-bit machine) that if I want to use the keyboard to highlight more than 1 line, the cursor appears to reset itself and usually screws up my highlight.
Here's how to re-create this:
Start the cursor at the beginning of a line
Press and hold shift to begin highlighting
Press the down arrow (to highlight the line)
Press the End key to highlight unto the end of the second line
Release the shift key
What happens is that my first line will become un-highlighted.
I tested a second process which does work (and may help solve the bug):
Press shift and the down arrow, then release.
Press shift and the End key.
This will properly highlight both rows.
Thanks

This does not appear to manifest itself in SSMS 2008R2.

Hmm, it looks like the selection bug is still haunting :) I thought this one to be fixed long ago. Apparently, it isn't, or at least not completely.

I tried that too. There still seem to be a couple of edge cases. I'm going to request reopening of that issue.
