Post [SA - 6.5.272] Alt+Num triggered snippet + $PROMPT$ bug Reply with quote
In SSMS, when triggering a snippet with Alt+Num that uses $PROMPT(...)$ to collect parameters, dismissing that prompt (either by Cancel button or pressing Escape) will temporarily disable Alt+Num snippets. Invoking a popup, running a query or simply switching between applications back and forth will restore the functionality.

So far I have failed to reproduce it. Which SSMS version are you using? Is that reproducible in other editors?

Version info:
Quote:

Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 11.0.3128.0
Microsoft Analysis Services Client Tools 11.0.3128.0
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 6.1.7601.17514
Microsoft MSXML 3.0 4.0 6.0
Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.11.9600.16521
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0.30319.18444
Operating System 6.1.7601

Haven't tried it in other editors yet.

EDIT: so far it seems it does not happen in SQL Editor that comes with SA.

I think I see some anomalies with Alt+NUM keys, but not exactly like what you are describing. Will do more testing today.

I checked again with our developers. We were able to reproduce this issue with WPF based editors (SSMS 2012 and VS 2012 and later) on Windows 7 systems. A fix for this issue will be provided in version 7.
