Does Audit Tool works with SQL Express 2008 |
|
Hi,
Does Audit Tool works with SQL Express 2008. Also I am using .NET application to communicate to the SQL Express 2008 database, Is it possible that I can log the application username against each select, update, delete or update query.
Thanks,
Nilesh Patil

Yes, it can handle SQL Express 2008 and log all sorts of operations, including what, who, when, and how

e.g. I am auditing the Accounts table and the user done some operations and then he feels their is some problem with system and he calls the DB Admin for changing the database to previous point. Is it possible with the Audit tool?

While data changes cab e restoring from the auditing data, that is not a function of the audit. Database backups are designed just for that. If you use FULL recovery model you can restore to virtually any point in time covered by the backups. You can restore the entire database or restore to a temp one and then just copy over specific tables.
