HTML and Text Email Simultaneously |
|
Can DBMail send an email in "mixed" mode...i.e as Text and HTML? (in the event the recipient's client does not support HTML, it will still render as a plain text email).
Thank you.

In DB Mail, the conversion is not automatic. To allow both HTML and text
versions, users will need to do one of the following:
1. Choose MAPI email interface and have Outlook or other reach-email client
installed on the system running DB Mail console. This is not the best option
as it requires disabling email security in Outlook in order to allow using
it as a automated email sender. In this mode DB Mail console cannot run as a
Windows service.
2. Choose SMTP email interface and attach message.txt file with text version
of message to email messages. I recommend this method, it requires a bit
more work on programmer's part (to generate text versions of messages) but
on the other hand it is Outlook independent and also allows running DB Mail
console as a Windows service.

Thank you. So just to clarify, the recipient that does not have HTML enabled in their email client will still receive an email that shows all the HTML tags, but they would have the option of opening the attachment to see a properly formatted text version of the email?
