SQL Assistant with Toad for SQL Server 5.0 |
|
I can't seem to get SQL Assistant 5 to work with Toad for SQL Server 5.0. The instructions in the SQL Assistant help document under Installing and Enabling SQL Assistant Add-ons for Preconfigured Targets are of no value since there is no "Register SQL Assistant Add-on" option when Toad for SQL Server is chosen as the target. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Try the following:
Start Toad
Open SQL Editor
Set focus to the SQL Editor and press Ctrl+Shift+F5
Choose appropriate options for SQL Assistant.
Please let us know if that works for you.

|
Ctrl+Shift+F5 did not induce a response of any kind from Toad or SQL Assistant

Hi,
We found some regression issues with latest versions of Toad. They can be workaround by starting Toad before starting SQL Assistant.
We will address them in the next private build and the next public maintenance release.

starting TOAD first works, but I noticed the drop down list from the SQLAssistant menu on the TOAD toolbar is incomplete. Some items appear to be missing, others are missing the text, etc. Is this part of the regression problem?

Yes, they are. Toad is loading some version of common controls comctl32.dll file, which is not fully compatible with SQL Assistant and may impact how the menus are rendered. We are searching for a solution for this issue.
