Here is how it works. The utility emulates Ctrl+Alt+Del key press to bring up the login screen. Then if user name is specified in command parameters, it emulates Alt+U press to set the focus into user name field and fills it with the specified name. If user name is not specified in parameters, it skips that step. It then emulates Alt+P press to set the focus into password field and fills it with the specified password. It then sends the Enter keystroke to unlock the screen. As you can see, there is no processing to emulate mouse click on a user name icon displayed in Windows 7 default login screen, without which the password field cannot be activated. As far as I know, it is possible to configure Windows Vista, 2008, 7 to display the old good login screen, just as it is displayed in 2000/XP/2003.
