Post Logon.exe - Utility Program Reply with quote
I have a few questions, regarding the "Logon.exe" free utility program:

1. Does the Logon.exe utility work under both Vista and Windows 7, or does it only work under XP ???

2. For Logon.exe to work, under Windows XP ...... Do I have to Turn OFF - "Fast User Switching" ???

3. For Logon.exe to work, under Windows XP ...... Do I have to Turn OFF - "Use the Welcome Screen" ???

1. 2000, XP, 2003, and Vista if you make Vista display compatible Logon dialog
2. No. It is a logoff/logon process, not a user switch
3. Don't know. Please try it out.

Hope this helps.

In Vista, can you tell me, how do I go about making the setting change to "make Vista display compatible Logon dialog" ?

Just in case... this utility automates user/password entry into the Login screen. It invokes the login screen by simulating Ctrl+Alt+Del key press, then it waits for the Logon dialog to popup, finds User/Password edit fields and simulates data entry ending with the press of the Enter key.

SysOp,

Thanks for info.

.... I guess from one of your previous replys, that it is not supported for Windows 7 ? Has it been tried under Windows 7, but fails ?

.... If so, are there any plans to upgrade it for Windows 7 ?? If yes, when ?

This utility was developed in 2003. As you can imagine, Windows 7 wasn't around at that time. I just don't know whether it is compatible with Windows 7 or not.

When focus is in the user name field, does pressing the TAB key move focus to the password filed?
