You are not stupid. Trust me.
The web console is not part of the trial download. It is included with a site license and also can be licensed separately. The web console provides the same functions that you can find in the GUI, but web based and users only need IE web browser to work with 24x7 remotely (or when 24x7 is run as a service).
If you feel like the documentation for the console is not enough and you need to try it locally, please send an email to 'sales at softtreetech.com' and request a copy of the console for trial purposes. Please indicate which version you want to try, there are two of them, classic ASP based version and JSP based version. The first needs IIS web server, the other needs Apache Tomcat or any other web server able to run JSP pages or you can get Apache JSP plug-in for IIS to run it with IIS. The JSP version is more advanced and the web server hosting it can also be run on non-Windows systems.

Ok, I have currently a single license. Do I have to have another license if I want to run the remote GUI on my laptop with the main engine running on my live server? I do not want to run the 24x7 engine on my laptop just the gui. Thanks.
