Please indicate in your posts what software version, system type you are running. It is very difficult to help you not known what you are running and where. Please try to be as proactive as possible and provide the necessary details.

I installed on Red Hat Enterprise Linux release 4 (Nahant update 3) 24x7 scheduler – Multi-platform 4.1.272.
I have set up a job with a certain user name and user password for job execution. The password itself contains a "!" character. But it seems that it don't work with this (or some other special) characters. Our administrator now asks me to ask you if this problem is patchable, because we need here a set-up which may contain some special characters.

Please try changing authentication method from PAM to FTP in the scheduler settings and check if that makes any difference. Please let us know the result.
