Running scheduler in service mode |
|
Hi there,
I am trying to run the scheduler service in agent mode on a windows box.
When I start the service it starts up fine, but the master scheduler is giving me a distributed communication error.
Also even though the service says it is started, I do not see any of processes in the task manager.
If I run the agent in gui mode, the connection works fine.
Any ideas?

Take a look at the schedule.log file. After service startup, a new line should appear with either "24x7 Remote Agent starting" or "24x7 Scheduler starting" text. If you get that line, you are ok. If you don't please review the Windows Application Event log for additional messages.
In case if it starts Ok, you can also use "netstat -a" command to verify that it listens on port 1096 or in case the default port has been changed, on the selected port.

I got this to work by using the local system account to start the service.
Thanks!
