Clunky interface for editing jobs |
|
When editing a job it seems you're forced to use the Job Properties Wizard. This entails hitting Next and Back to navigate 12 screens of information.
Have I missed something? This seems pretty clunky. I'm thinking a large window with tabs across the top would be much quicker & easier to change, and offer a better overview...

That's because you likely underestimate 24x7 capabilities. There are almost 100 different job properties and some of them are interdependent. If you noticed, the number of steps in the Wizard changes dynamically according to your selection.
On the other hand, if you want you can create a template that match your requirements and enter new jobs with just a few keystrokes or mouse clicks. Look into Templates feature.
If templates are not good enough you can create scripts in JAL, VBS or outside of the scheduler using 24x7 APIs to generate jobs dynamically fro ma script. This is what some people use when they need to create large number of similar jobs.
