Restoring 24x7 |
|
Hi
If the 24x7 windows version server crashed and the OS was unrecoverable and no full backup existed, but the "back up job db and config settings" job template was run previously, would that backup contain enough to bring the scheduler back to full working order without any additional configuration? Eg is the registry stuff exported enough to get the scheduler working in service mode again? Assuming the application was installed in a vanilla state first after the event.
Does that backup contain enough to assist in moving the scheduler from one server to another?
Cheers

24x7 stores in the registry only global settings, basically what you configure in the Tools/Options menu and certain other global settings such as database profiles and remote agent profiles. Everything else is stored in the job database file. So if you got that file and the registry export, you can easily restore them to a different server, just copy the files and double-click on the copied .REG file to load it.

So if I'm reading that right there is nothing additional to configure if you've got the reg file and job db?
so to restore with this backup method
install OS
install 24x7
import registry and put the job db in the same path it was in before
Should do it.
