				  SSMS just exits unexpectantly |
				     |

				Hi,

SSMS has crashed three times today and I can only imagine that it's got something to do with SqlAssistant.

What's weird is that it just exits with no error messages or anytihng. The window just closes.

I think that it's something to do with SqlAssistant is because I can't remember experiencing this behavour before.

I'm now running 2.0.13 BETA.

The only information I could find was in the Event Viewer, there were three Errors that were exactly the same, the most recent a few minutes ago.

Well a quick google sent me to

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario: • An application is built by using the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.

• The application runs in the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.

• The application runs under a user account context.

• No user profile is associated with the user account context.

I'm not much of a .NET security boffin but I'm running windows server 2003 standard edition on a large corporate network. I'm not sure what they mean by no user profile is associated with the user account context however.

I've applied the patch that microsoft suggest and if the crashes continue I'll let you know.

Not sure what is causing that. So far it looks like an error during database call brings down the .NET Runtime, which in turn brings down SSMS as the host application. We will look into this. Thank you.
