Logon.exe with case sensitive password |
|
Hi, i try to use the logon.exe file but my password is with case sensitive and the logon.exe file doesn’t work with case sensitive letters, how still i can use the file because i can't change the password this is mandatory that the password will have one case sensitive letter, isn't any new logon.exe that can take case sensitive letters, or can you fix one. i don't know maybe to put some special letter before the case sensitive letter that will separate the case sensitive letter from the regular one. this is very urgent for me. Thanks Avi

I don't think case-sensitivity is the problem. It passes your password to the operation system exactly as you enter it. As with any other command line parameter the password needs to be entered in the format understood by the shell, for example, if it contains spaces, enclose the entire value in double quotes, if there are &, > or < signs they must be prefixed by ^ and so on. It is not specific to logon. Search web for special symbols in DOS command line, for example see http://www.windowsitlibrary.com/Content/405/29/2.html : Hi, : i try to use the logon.exe file but my password is with case sensitive : and the logon.exe file doesn’t work with case sensitive letters, how still : i can use the file because i can't change the password this is mandatory that : the password will have one case sensitive letter, isn't any new logon.exe : that can take : case sensitive letters, or can you fix one. : i don't know maybe to put some special letter before the case sensitive : letter that will separate : the case sensitive letter from the regular one. : this is very urgent for me. : Thanks : Avi

It is not the password, it is likely Windows Terminal Services that make the difference. You need to turn them off. If you run Windows XP you need to turn off Fast User Swithcing (which is also based on the Terminal Services) and restart the machine : thanks for the fast answer, : my password is something like that Tre1Urena,when i try with this : password i see that the logon.exe make the ctrl alt del put the password : but unable to logon no error message is output, but when i try this logon.exe : on : computer with password like that trfgf it's work fine, maybe that i have a : number : needs something else?Plz help...

And why do you think it is logon.exe and not something else? The logon.ex doesn't care what the password is. It sends it as it is. Could it be that when you have all upper case password Windows "thinks" you typed it with Caps Locks pressed mistakelly all the time? In any case if it doesn't like all upper case passwords, nothing I can do to help you there. Please pick a different password. : i think that it's definitely the password problem because i try various of : passwords on server 2003 : without terminal server, the passwords that doesn’t have upper case : "A" works perfect but on the sane machine if i change the : password to upper case : the program doesn’t work i tell you this definitely, and you can try it your : self with upper case password. : i've little experience in computers for 6 years "MSCD+MSCD".

Sorry, but this is a free utility which is not supported. Maybe it will be updated later. You can use it if you find it helpfull. Have you tried writing your own utility to do that kind of stuff? : this is your company code give this Bug to your developer that he will fix : this error, : i don't think that this will be much work for him, if i had the source code : for that program i probably do it my self fix this minor Bug.
