Post How many Log File entries before slowing system Reply with quote

Can you give me an idea on how many entries can be logged before it impacts or slows the scheduler down?
I have read a couple of emails stating that a large log file will slow the system.

We are using the default (3000 entries) which gives us around 5 days worth. We need to increase this a lot.
Jobs are not Async.

Thanks,
Mark

This greatly depends on the performance of your computer. On fast computers having 3K or 10K records does not make much difference.

But... Here is a tip: I believe the question you didn't ask but wanted to ask is "How can I have longer job log history without scarifying the performance and memory?" And the answer is, enable HTML Status Reports option. You will get as many days of history as you want or as much as can fit on your computer disk. With the status reports the 3000 is simply a cache that should be adjusted to fit at least 2 days of data.

Of course in the previous post I meant to say "sacrificing" instead of "scarifying"

I figured that one out. lol...

I have enabled the status reports and set the path but I do not see any files
being generated and under reports the Status Reports option is disabled.

Any Ideas?
