Post Ping Failure Reply with quote

I'm having a problem with the native JAL Ping function
that has suddenly stopped working on our 24X7 Scheduler
server. In trace mode it returns '64 bytes from pingservername
icmp_seq = 0. time: 0 ms non-echo type 3 recvd'.
The Ping function has worked fine for a couple of years.
I restarted some MS Application Center services on this
server which probably is inhibiting the proper Ping response.
Any ideas on how to revive this to get the proper response?
Thanks.

BTW - I had no success with querying your web site forum
using the string 'Ping'. It returns everything but messages
relating to 'Ping'. What am I doing wrong here, or is the
site search not working properly?

This error indicates that the ping didn't get the expected response which should be an IP packet containing ICMP data. This usually indicates a problem with a router or firewall.
Don't know what else to suggest other then trying to restart the machine and see if that helps.
