I'm using 24x7 scheduler, v. 3.4.24, and I noticed the
log files are updating, but updates aren't visible until I stop
and restart the application. Is there a configuration setting
I need to change.

Detached jobs don't write to the log displayed on the main screen. They only write to the disk copy of that log. You don't need to do the stop/start to view new entries, you can simply use the refresh option (View/Refresh menu) or just press the F5 hot key.
