Post Job Queue not serviced Reply with quote

We have seen several instances where the 24x7 service (3.4.18)
does not service the job queue however the service is running. We have mainly noticed this during three day weekends and we do not have holiday schedules defined. Do you have any suggestions to trouble shoot this?

Do you mean some scheduled jobs don't run on weekends? If yes then how are these jobs scheduled? Do you have other jobs running during weekends? Do they run in the same queue or different queues?

Naw, I do not mean the jobs do not run on weekends. What we see is the scheduled jobs for Monday (the holiday) are simply not run at all.

We usually have to restart the service to get the jobs to start scheduled jobs to start backup.

And you are sure that "Skip job on holidays" option is not checked and these "Mondays" are not entered in the calendar?

Again, can you provide more info, describe how these jobs are scheduled (schedule types, what days/times are selected, other related options). It is kind of hard to understand what is happening and help you without having the necessary information
.

Are any of the jobs scheduled as asynchronous?
We have experienced that a job queue with to many
asynchronous jobs will lead to a lockup of the scheduler
none of the jobs would in this situiation run until the scheduler is restarted.

The solution is to make many job queues and place synchronous jobs in it.

another solution is to configure the jobs as detached and make the jobs use
semaphore files to prevent double instances of the same job.
