Post Windows NT Service Reply with quote

Hi,

If I configure 24x7 to run as a NT Service
under a local system Admin Account that only has
access to the physical workstation.

1. Will 24x7 be able to submit a SAS job under

another user that has Network Access??

( example: my_lan_userid, my_lan_password )

2. If #1 is Yes,

Will the SAS Job be able to establish a DDE

session with Microsoft Excel. The SAS Job

actually starts a seperate Microsoft Excel

session and it writes data into several

worksheets.

When the SAS job is executing, you can see

excel start up and you can see the results

of the SAS job issuing excel commands?

3. If Yes,

When I log on to my_lan_userid ,

Will I be able to modify the 24x7 jobs database

from my_lan_userid ?

Thanks Vic

No this cannot be done because from a LocalSystem service point of view there is no network and so won't be able to start a batch job using credentials of a network user, because it will be unable to connect to the user's domain.
