Hi,

Using the MailSend jal command I get the
error:

The mail server doesn't like the name
recipient@company.to have you set the
recipient address correctly.

Would this command not work with .to mail
addresses?

I don't think the problem is caused by the .to.

If it works for some but not for all emails make sure you don't have leading or trailing spaces. Also try specifying email address completely in lower case to avoid side effects of @W, @T and other macro-variables

in 24x7 but I think you're right.
It's not sending anything to addresses outside
our network.

I may be going on a complete tangent but if I try
sending mail by telneting to our SMTP server it
says
550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for theaddress.to
Is there something I need to configure on the
SMTP side maybe?

Open Tools/Options menu, make sure SMTP is selected as the email interface and change default email sender address to your email and make sure.
Create a new job of script type and copy the following line into the job script replacing the text in brackets with your email address.

MailSend "[your email]", "", "[your email]", "test", "test"

Run this job. Please let us know what you get

It works if I replace [your email] with my own
email address. If I use an email address outside
the network then it still gives me the original error
message.

Sounds like a security issue. Please check with your email administrator if you are allowed to use SMTP to send "outside" emails and the email server (or SMTP gateway) is configured for that. If you have a firewall make sure SMTP port is open.

How about
MailSend "[your email]", "[your password]", "[outside email]", "test", "test"
