Post Question on FTP Wizard to create a new job Reply with quote

FYI, when I use the "Fill-In Job Template" to select the FTP directory I want to sync with the wizard does not seem to handle sub-directories deeper then three levels.

When I try to go past the third level the "Fill-in Job Template" appends to first three directories to the current directory, resulting in an invalid directory an dialog box is generated.

For example: I want to navigate to /root/dir1/dir2/dir3
When using the tool if I click /root I go to root and the path is update properly.
Then, I drill down to dir1, and then dir2, the "path" now shows /root/dir1/dir2.
Now I drill down to dir3 I get a message indicating /root/dir1/dir2/root/dir1/dir2/dir3 does not exist and the path is populated with /root/dir1/dir2/root/dir1/dir2/dir3

If I manually enter /root/dir1/dir2/dir3 the path is displayed properly.

Can you validate my findings.

Does it work if you manually type in the directory path in the Browse for File dialog and then press Connect?

Two things to Note.

I am no longer able to browse the ftp server with the fill-in job template. I receive an error service not available, extended error 4. I can still run the job I created earlier, and I can FTP via the command line. However, I can no longer attached with the "fill-in job template"

the other thing to note is the path was wrong in the JAL, even after I manually entered in the path.
The answer to your wuestion is Yes, the when using the fill-in job template the path is incorrect in the JAL. (when it works)

I did cycle the PC and tried it again. Same results.

I think the extended error 4 is the same/similar as another post here too.

Make sure Caps Lock is not turned on and you are not entering your password in upper case. Other then that I do not see any reason why a template wizard cannot connect to the FTP server while the job can.

The user account was liited to 2 concurrent sessions. Maybe that was it. Works now.
