I have created a monthly job to be run on the first
weekday, and specified that it slide on holiday. This
is a subject we had covered when I was trying to do
the "slide" on a daily job. When I save the job,
the "slide" option does not get saved. In Job
Properties, it is marked "No," and when I edit the
job properties again, the option is not checked "on."
Is there more of a restriction than just making it a
"monthly" job to make this work? I don't find any
additional clues in the help.

I don't know why this happens, but here is how you can force it

Create a temp script job with the following code:
JobModify "615", "SLIDE_HOLIDAY", "Y"
Repalce 615 with the ID of the monthly job. Run this script type job and then delete it. Save changes.
