I'm trying to change one or all of my
jobs from asyn to sync. In the job properties
dialog, the async option is greyed out so I
can't change its state.

What am I doing wrong?

For program type jobs that option is shown in two places. One of them (in step 5) is simply shown there for consistency with script and database jobs and always disabled. The other one shown in step 3 can be used to change job type.

I realize now why I was confused. At times the asynchronous check
box is greyed out even on step 3 of the job wizard. Can you tell
me under which condition this is greyed?
