Database Profiles not listed since upgrade |
|
Hello, we have upgraded 24x7 to 3.4.1 and I have noticed that the database profiles that I set up don't seem to be listed anymore - but they still work and are listed when you are creating a SQL job. How can I maintain the list of database profiles ?

Did you upgrade from version 2 or from an earlier version 3? Are you using 24x7 24x7 GUI on the scheduling machine or 24x7 Remote Control connected to another machine? FYI: Database profiles are saved separatelly from the job database and they should not be affected by the upgrade. : Hello, : we have upgraded 24x7 to 3.4.1 and I have noticed that the database profiles : that I set up don't seem to be listed anymore - but they still work and : are listed when you are creating a SQL job. : How can I maintain the list of database profiles ?

Try to restart the Scheduler, please let me know if it does not help. By the way, automatic CR NL conversion to NL in SQL scripts will be available in 3.4.2 which will be released soon. : just upgraded to a newer release of version 3. : I don;t know why they aren't listed when I click on the Database Profiles

The profile definitions are stored in the registry under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SoftTree Technologies, Inc.\24x7 Scheduler\3.0\Profiles" key. Please use the registry editor to verify them. Each set of database profiles is grouped under database version name like "Oracle 8.0.4 - 8i and later" or "MS SQL Server 7.x and later". Please make sure these names match exactly database version names as they appear in the Profiles list. If they do not, rename them. If you happen to find a difference please let us know which name is different so we can fix this backward incompatibility in future versions. : I restarted the scheduler yesterday and it is still not there. : good news about the CR, NL database issue !

I have 2 entries under Profiles key. Once says Oracle 804 - 8i and the other sys 804 - 8i and later. All my database entries are in the first one, but a new one I created yesterday is in teh 804-8i and later one. We are using Oracle 9i. What shall I do - copy all the entries into the 804-8i and later key and delete the old 804-8i key or just the entries in the old key ?

Rename "Oracle 8.04 - 8i" to "Oracle 8.0.4 - 8i and later", copy other entries to the same key The name must much exactly, otherwise it will not appear in the profile list. : I have 2 entries under Profiles key. : Once says Oracle 8.04 - 8i and the other sys 804 - 8i and later. : All my database entries are in the first one, but a new one I created : yesterday is in teh 804-8i and later one. : We are using Oracle 9i. : What shall I do - copy all the entries into the 804-8i and later key and : delete the old 804-8i key or just the entries in the old key ?

OK - renamed the key to include "later" and they are all listed now under the "Database Profiles" option. Thanks.
