Post Fail-Over Mode Reply with quote

Greetings:

In Fail-Over Mode, I have two questions:

1. Is there any way to make up for the jobs that were missed after the Master fails but before the Standby takes over? I wondered about setting the clock on the Standby system behind the Master clock enough to cover the retry period, but.....

2. Is there a way to configure the Master/Standby so that when the Master is restarted, it will take back over from the Standby and the Standby will go back to Standby mode?

Thanks!

Neil.....

Make that three questions... In the manual, it says "Optionally you can setup both Master and Standby Schedulers to run on the same machine. This will ensure continued processing should the Master Scheduler fail." There is no word on how to do this. Please advise.

: Thanks!

Don't set the clock back as it will change again next time your Standby machine connects to the network. Here are the answers for your question

1. If you set sufficient allowed delay in the job properties, the Standby should pick uo these jobs and no job will be missed.

2. No, this cannot be done. At least not this version...

3. Same way you setup on two computers, just start 24x7 twice. The first instance will tunr to Master mode, the second instance will turn to Standby mode. In the Options for the Location you can enter either machine name, or IP address or just LocalHost.

I'm afraid I don't follow this. I can't find anything in the job properties that refers to 'delay' other than 'Skip this job if delay is over X'. Please explain this.

Thanks!
