Post job dependencies editor not displaying all jobs ? Reply with quote

Hello,
I have created 3 jobs, job A creates a semaphore file and job B is dependant on that file being present. Job B then produces a semaphore file and Job C is dependant on that.
I have named the sameaphore files and told jobs B & C what they are and modelled this in the Dependencies Editor, but when I apply changes and save it I go back to the dependencies editor and job C is not there and there is a line from job B that goes off the screen !
I don't know what it is doing. Is this a bug ?

Change workspace zoom to 50% or less so that you can see wider workspace area then move off-screen job icons to the left top corner

that doesn't work as an arrow goes off the screeen to the top left hand corner to a job that is not visible even if I reduce the zoom to 30% so I cannot drag the job down

Here is what you can do to fix it:

Change that job's semaphore file name for a moment and re-open the Dependencies Editor. The "bad" icon should be gone. Drag the job icon to workplace, link it, and then click the Apply button to force the Editor to save your new diagram and icon positions. Close the Editor and if you wish restore the original file name.

no that doesn't work either. It still reverts back to placing the icon off the screen.
I can send you a screen dump if you want so you can see yourself what is happening.

I think I understand your situation.

My solution, should work if you change the file name to something that doesn't create a link on the diagram. The Editor will not show that job icon in the workspace and you will be able to drag-and-drop it to the place where you want it to be.

It is important that you re-link the dragged job using the Editor and then apply changes, so that the Editor will store the new job icon position. If you don't re-link or apply changes the new position will not be captured!!!

Another solution is to recreate that job. In this case, please don't use "copy properties of existing job" option in the Job Wizard, just copy properties manually.

that doesn't work - I tried to recreate the job but it does the same. I think it's a bug in the editor. I have tried to apply the changes and it looks OK, but when you come out of the editor and save the jobs and then go back into the editor they are all messed up again.
