Question 1.
In our enterprise we have Novel and NT servers. We want to use the 24x7 Scheduler to transfer files from the Novel server to the NT FTP server. what means does 24x7 Scheduler have to communicate file access security between the to platforms. Can 24x7 Scheduler run under a service ID/pasword?

Question 2. if the remote agent is located on a spacific pc, can any person that has network logon premissions run the 24x7 Scheduler? or does it only allow a spacific user login to use the 24x7 Scheduler. if so where is this controled? is it at the local user level or at the domain user level?

Answer 1.
a. 24x7 Scheduler as any other programs runs under some user account which means that the program has permissions granted to that account. As long as the account has appropriate access to the Novel server and the NT FTP server, 24x7 Schedule can move and copy files between them.
b. 24x7 Scheduler can be setup to run as a Windows NT service under any valid user account. It will inherit permissions and settings of that account including ID/password

Answer 2.
Sorry, your question is not clear. If you mean "can 24x7 Remote Agent run on any PC/login?", the answer is yes, as long as the login has permissions to run programs.
If you mean "can any user access that remotely running Remote Agent from his/her PC using 24x7 Remote Control?" then answer is yes and no, it depends on user permissions to access that remote machine. You can also restrict list of computers that will be allowed to connect by specifying their IP addresses in the RESTRICT.LST file. Please the on-line help for more info.

In all cases all permissions are managed by your network/system security.
