Here are Release Notes describing major changes and enhancements in DB Audit versions 4.0:
New Features
- 4.0.12: Full support for MySQL server auditing for versions 4.2 and later
on Linux and Windows platforms.
- 4.0.12: Support for Central Audit Repositories using MySQL servers host.
- 4.0.12: New tools for discovering hidden PII, PCI and banking data stored in
databases, including both encrypted and unencrypted data. As of version
4.0.12 these tools are available for Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 UDB and MySQL
database systems.
- 4.0.12: New database security management tools for managing database logons,
users, roles, groups, profiles and permissions. As of version 4.0.12 these
tools are available for Oracle and SQL Server; support for other systems will
be added in the following maintenance releases.
- 4.0.12: New tools for finding security gaps and exploring effective security
settings. Can be used to find all direct and indirect access to the data,
including access path via role and group memberships, aliases, database views,
using directly granted permissions or public or global permissions. As of
version 4.0.12 this tools are available for Oracle and SQL Server; support for
other systems will be added in the following maintenance releases.
- 4.0.12: 18 new reports for monitoring and analyzing user behavior patterns
and anomalies. As of version 4.0.12 these new reports are available for SQL
Server database systems; support for other systems will be added in the
following maintenance releases.
- 4.0.12: New group of statistical reports for logon and user activities. As
of version 4.0.12 these new reports are available for Oracle, SQL Server,
and MySQL database systems; support for other systems will be added in
following maintenance releases.
- 4.0.12: Support for Crystal Reports and other external reporting tools;
scheduling and running these reports using the Alert Center scheduler.
- 4.0.12: Many graphical reports have been ported to the Alert Center and
and can be now scheduled to run automatically and be delivered as HTML or
ZIP email attachments. This new feature is available for all database
systems.
- 4.0.12: Internal code compatibility changes for supporting latest versions of
SQL Server, ASE, DB2, MySQL and proving functional compatibility in places
where these database systems are not backward compatible.
- 4.0.12: New tools for audit trail capacity planning. Both local audit and
central audit repositories are supported.
- 4.0.12: Updated interface for the Alert Center Remote Console now supports
scheduling of weekly, bi-weekly and monthly reports.
- 4.0.12: Significant usability improvements in DB Audit graphical and web-based
interfaces
- 4.0.12: DB Audit API has been updated to support version 4 functionality that
can be used for direct integration with in-house applications and third-party
systems.

(code Katmai).
- 4.0.19: New facility to schedule automated PII/PCI/Banking data scan report
across all servers registered with the Alert Center and Central Repository.
Enhancements:

- 4.0.16: Updated interface for the Alert Center Remote Console now
provides new menu (File/Modify Database Connections) for changing database
connection settings for the Alert Center including connection driver, user,
and password.
- 4.0.16: Added partial support for XML data type in DB2 9.x - this change affects
data-change auditing and allows auditing of tables with XML columns.
- 4.0.16: It is now possible to customize default password for DB_AUDIT user / login
before the installation of system and data-change audits.
- 4.0.18: SQL Server system auditing is now started automatically after it is
enabled; SQL Server service restart is not required.
