Hi,

According to the web, this is somehow related to a timezone issue. But I don't see how that's relevant.

Before yesterday, my Oracle settings were

c:\oracle\instantclient_21_3:
SET ORACLE_HOME=c:\Oracle\instantclient_21_3
SET TNS_ADMIN=c:\Oracle\instantclient_21_3\network\admin

, but after an oci client upgrade to 21.8, it's now

SET ORACLE_HOME=c:\Oracle\instantclient_21_8
SET TNS_ADMIN=c:\Oracle\instantclient_21_8\network\admin

After changing all the settings yesterday, all of my tools (including Sql Assistant) were working smoothly. But a reboot today, I'm now getting an OCI error 1804 OCIServerAttach when trying to connect to one of the databases.

I don't see how this is relevant to a timezone setting.

Also, the Sql Loader Sqlldr import tool has been affected, as well. A different kind of errors in that case. "Message 2100 not found. No message file for product=RDBMS" I haven't looked this one up yet, and am not sure if it's related.

Do you have any suggestions?

This 'magically' resolved itself this morning.

Early this morning, I had the same problem. But later in the morning, without rebooting or changing the relevant environment, all the queries started working again.

Resolved.

Magic I suppose. Yet, if it broke and then resolved itself without you rebooting or doing anything else, perhaps the root cause is outside of your computer?

Possibly.

The one thing I DID do today, which shouldn't affect the Oracle client configuration, is install a GTK Server app. Might be this, might be something totally different.

Either way, I'm happy.

Thanks, Sysop.
