Upgrade |
|
Hello.
I bought a professional SQL Assistant license 8 months ago (february this year), which said it included all maintenance, including new major upgrades for a year. It hasn't been a year, so I went ahead and did the upgrade, since it popped up and offered it to me and I assumed it was free and supported by my license. Lo and behold, it isn't accepting my license anymore. Do I have to downgrade now? And in that case, why does the product page say it supports all upgrades for a year after purchase?
Thank you!

Please contact support to get your new license key. It's free if the maintenance is in a good standing.
All new major versions require new license keys.

Thank you for the help!
Do you have any idea how long it's supposed to take, to get a response, or if i did anything wrong?
I contacted support on the same day I posted here, and I still haven't gotten a response...
The free trial has now expired, so I guess I have to go back to the previous version (which I hope won't affect all the customizations done).
I wish the update offer would come with a warning about the license key limitation, I wouldn't've installed it, had I known I'd have to run it using the free trial and potentially run out before I even get contacted back.

How did you contact them? I usually get a response within a day or two.
I also advise keeping copies of the sqlassist.sas file. The easiest way of doing this is by using some kind of version control system, eg. git. It saved my hide at least a dozen times while tinkering with random settings.

Ok, thanks Sysop. I'll contact sales. I think I have an existing maintenance still active, but the new setup doesn't recognize it.

The setup has nothing to do with the maintenance, it's just a regular offline setup.
Just in case, every new major SQL Assistant version requires new license keys. The good thing is that if your license is covered by maintenance, all upgrades are free during the maintenance term. Please reach out to the sales team to get your license, it's as simple as sending an email message to salesATsofttreetech.com and asking for new license key for version 12. To speed up the processing of the upgrade, please provide your current license key. This is it.
