[11.5.354 Pro] - Q: New File Button |
|
I noticed that the New File button is a dropdown button and that I can create Java, Tcl, Python, XML and Generic besides the obvious SQL. Is this something new? I don't recall these being there and cannot find them in the Guide either. What is their purpose? SE isn't a generic editor (at least it wasn't until recently), or am I mistaken?

It's kind of new new functionally supporting direct file editing of certain types of files, but not totally new. Some databases support procedures in different languages, many support Java. PostgreSQL supports a bunch of different languages. In schema management dialogs we started supporting XML and Java since 11.2. The Plugin Development IDE supports 4 other programming languages. This new feature facilitates editing files of different types in full screen modes.
