Please click SQL Assistant icon in the system tray and choose SQL Editor Professional (x64) menu. Does it work for you? Can you use it with your Oracle databases?

Came over this topic while searching for the same. SysOp, I think you missed the point - metal81 does want to use SQLAssistant with Oracle SQL Developer, not outside of it ...

The same for me. I am using it successfully with MS SQL Management Studio 18.x.

Is there any way to use assist similar way INSIDE of Oracle SQL Developer 19.x?

EDIT: If the use of SQL Editor Professional (x64) from SQL Assistant tray icon context menu was meant just as a test of Oracle connectivity, then it is my bad though...

I didn't actually miss that point. Latest Oracle Developer versions are incompatible with SQL Assistant. and that's why I suggested using SQL Editor as a replacement. Please give it a try for a week.

PS. Oracle SQL Developer is a Java based product, unfortunately SQL Assistant cannot be directly integrated with it and enrich its editors with additional functions. In the legacy versions we used to open a custom editor within the Oracle Developer IDE, but that's not possible anymore and makes no sense since the inception of SQL Editor Professional Edition which provides the same functions that SSMS and Oracle Developer provide.

Thanks for info. Stating that use of SA with SQLDeveloper is not possible in Your reply would avoid my confusion ;) It was unclear for me why You suggested use of SQLEP ...

Hi,

Yes it does work with Toad, there is a plugin for Toad available. It also provides a good alternative to both Toad and SQL Developer too. Have you looked at the SQL Editor? It's a full featured development and administration tool for multiple database types, including Oracle of course.

Yes, I have used the interface from SoftTree. It is nice. But I know not others in the company use it so trying to stay consistent with what others in the company use if possible.
