24x7 not processing jobs as a service |
|
I have 24x7 multi platform running on a windows 2008 server.
Up until 2 days ago it was working properly.
Currently it shows as started in the windows service panel , but no jobs are processed.
I looked in scheduler.log and there is nothing except a started message.
The debug log has this error:
2018-08-10 09:21:07,877 [main] ERROR com.softtreetech.jscheduler.business.remotecontrol.RemoteControlImpl - Error creating socketjava.net.SocketException: Unrecognized Windows Sockets error: 0: JVM_Bind
2018-08-10 09:21:07,877 [main] ERROR com.softtreetech.jscheduler.business.remotecontrol.RemoteControlImpl - Error creating socketjava.net.SocketException: Unrecognized Windows Sockets error: 0: JVM_Bind
2018-08-10 09:21:07,877 [main] ERROR com.softtreetech.jscheduler.ui.controller.ErrorHandlerImpl - Cannot start remote control service on port 1,097. Invalid port or port is already in use.
Remote control will be disabled.
2018-08-10 09:21:08,377 [main] ERROR com.softtreetech.jscheduler.common.util.Resources - getStringNew(RemoteControl.remoteControlError) : resource not found
2018-08-10 09:21:08,377 [main] ERROR com.softtreetech.jscheduler.business.remotecontrol.RemoteControlImpl - nullcom.softtreetech.jscheduler.common.SchedException: Error creating socket
Port 1097 is associated in the options with remote control but it is not enabled.
And its highly likely some network bozo recently blocked the port.
Questions:
1) is this causing my problem?
2) Is there a way to work around it without getting the bozo to open the port?
thanks

Hi. As far as I know several people reported various anomalies like that after installing latest Microsoft monthly security patches. Please reboot your server to clear this issue.

already rebooted and seeing the same behavior.
Interesting thing: we have 24x7 running on two servers. Server 1 also had the same problem but it cleared on reboot.
Server 2 still broken.

Please check the firewall settings on the server that there is a rule enabling incoming connections on ports 1096 and 1097.
Best , temperately turn the firewall off to see if it's interfering
