[9.5.469 Pro] - List Items |
|
Is it possible to change the first in Enabled after first letter match in List Items to some user defined value? If it isn't, could you make it possible, please?
SA very helpfully hides the tons of Public (and other) Synonyms in Oracle but since it shows them after the first match this feature seems as if it wasn't even there. Meanwhile disabling the synonyms results in no assistance provided for them. I tried rerouting accessing those items the synonyms are for through SYS.xyz but that simply does not feel "natural". The synonyms would be great if they weren't interfering with every breath I try to take. If they were summoned only after the eg. 4th or 5th (preferably some user-defined value, instead of a hardwired one), I imagine the after n-th letter could work more as intended.

I'm afraid that n-th cannot be customized. I believe the first letter match is wired internally.
What I think you can play with is adding ALL_, DBA_, and DBMS_ to the list of recognized prefixes and choosing "Alphabetically, Ignore Prefixes" for Context Tables Order and perhaps also tuning your choice of Name Matching Method that would return optimal results. That would help to shift position of public synonyms from alphabetical order with all ALL_ things always showing at the top of the lists to their more natural order.

I was afraid you might say that. I don't think those changes would do much good. The problem is not the order of the synonyms but their vast number cluttering the popup as soon as I hit any letter. I guess I'll just keep the synonyms off the popup list and not using that feature.
