CTRL-C Doesn't Work in Cell Value Pop-Up in Beta 11.0.7 |
|
When viewing the results of a query in SQL Assistant's results pane (CTRL-SHIFT-F9), I often double-click a cell because I need its value elsewhere. My normal workflow is to run a query, double-click the appropriate cell, press CTRL-A to select the entire contents in the pop-up, and then press CTRL-C to copy to the clipboard. Pressing CTRL-C has no effect on the clipboard but right-clicking and choosing Copy from the shortcut menu still works. I've tested in SSMS 2016 (v. 13.0.16106.4) and SSMS 18.1 (v. 15.0.18131.0).

I didn't realize there was an updated beta version. Problem seems to be solved after installing the latest version.

Everything was very slow last couple of weeks because of the holidays. We will look into this this as soon as possible.
In a mean time I was able to reproduce this issue with SSMS 18.1 and 18.2 so I think this is a regression in SQL Assistant 11.1 rather than a compatibility change in SSMS 18.4

Actually the development team has asserted that this is not a regression. Some key mapping has changed in SSMS 18.3 build 15.0.18178.0 and later causing a conflict with Ctrl+C keyboard hook. They are developing a fix for this issue. It could be released as soon as next week if all goes well.

Please upgrade to the latest version 11.1.120. The issue with Ctrl+C has been fixed as well as other hot keys that got broke after SSMS 18.3 release.
