Hello.
It requires version 1.7 which is the supported version, for which it has been compiled and tested with. You can upgrade it to the latest 1.7.x available, but moving to a different major Java version isn't recommended. You may try that at your own risk but it won't be supported.

Hello,
we are using at the moment jdk1.7.0_79 for 24x7_Scheduler(latest Version) on Red Hat 6.7.
Then we temporarily have to go with the latest 1.7 version from the business support which jdk1.7.0_102.
24x7_Scheduler didn't run under this java version jdk1.7.0_102.
Please provide an update to Java8 as Java7 is end of life. Its running on PCI relevant systems and impacts our compliance.

hi,
It should be ok to run it with jdk1.7.0_102. If if doesn't, please provide more details. that could be caused by Java installation issue or security settings. Check what you get in debug.log file in the scheduler's home directory in case it doesn't start. Please let us know what you see there.
You can try running it with jdk 8 on Red Hat, it should run, but we don't officially support it. To make it ignore jdk version, add anyJVM parameter to the command line. If you encounter any anomalies, revert back to 1.7
