Passwords protection - JAL scripts |
|
Hello
I'm using MailSend function within our JAL scripts. One concern is that the login info - Mail account and password - Is open to anyone who is looking at the script. Do you have any recommendations on how we can "hide" Userid/password information?
I would want to do this for all n functions that use/require login info like user id and password - MailSend, DatabaseConnect, FTP functions, RunAs, etc.
Thanks.

The job database is encrypted. The only way to see such hardcoded password is to open it in the scheduler's script editor, or export the job database to external database.
In order to see the script contents
1. A user must have permissions to access the server
2. User must be an administrator or job owner, assuming you have user security enabled (users added to groups).
3. Job must be unprotected or user know job protection password.
does this make sense?
