[7.0.132 beta] Name Matching Method - Feature request |
|
I used Name Matching Method - Name Contains Key String, Order Best Match for a while when it came out. But lately I prefer Name Contains Characters from Key String because I find it quite a bit faster, except some really annoying cases. Could you add the same additional ordering to that method, the same one Name Contains Key String, Alpha and Best Match has?

Would you please provide an example illustrating the ex-expected result?

Sure. Take a look at this post.
In the screenshot you can see that table 'jarat' is in the second half of the list and by using my preferred name matching method there's no way moving it toward the start of it because the list is ordered alphabetically, albeit the items at the first few positions could be easily filtered for by making the filter more strict, let's say typing 'ajabyd' would narrow the list to very lonely 'AlapJaratByDate' only. It's surprising how quickly one can adapt to filtering that way :)
Tables/and function at the bottom of the list starting by (or only containing) jarat are more relevant (better match) for 'jarat'.
As for how to tell which is more relevant, I've got no idea :) Perhaps sorting by the number of characters preceding the first matching character, ascending. Surely not a perfect one, just a guess.

Being able to sort the result by the length of the name ascending would be great here.
