I caught a funny hotkey overload bug in SQL Editor (or is it?). According to the popup for Indent button sitting on the toolbar, the hotkey for that button/function is Ctrl+Tab, the same one that is the hotkey for the Next Tab function as wall. But while it switches to the next tab, it does not indents selected text. On the other hand, the hotkey other editors usually use for indenting, a simple Tab, does not seem to work. It simply replaces the selected lines with a Tab character. So that leaves us with clicking the button as the only option to indent.

To the best of my knowledge Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab are assigned to switching tabs, not to indenting, so the hot key hint in the menu seems to be wrong. Simple Tab is used to indent and Shift+Tab to unindent the selected text. Please check your SQL Assistant and SQL Editor settings. I just tried with default settings and it all worked fine for me.

Hmm, strange. I tried it again and indeed, it worked. Then tried again a few times and sometimes it worked, sometimes it did not. I guess there's something interfering with the Tab key, I just have to find out what it is.

I have tried a few times and I failed to reproduce that issue. Have you had a chance to experiment with that again? Does it happen when something is running in the background or a specific window is open, or perhaps several windows or result sets?

I'm to blame on this one. The application I use to add hotkeys to features lacking them interfered here with the Tab key. I'm deeply sorry for raising false alarm.

No problem. I'm glad you were able to figure out the cause of the issue.
