In MySQL, physically, a schema is synonymous with a database but when I open my MySQL server in Repository Browser the schemas are not distinguished, the tables/procedures/whatever are all put under a database named 'database' and while there's a column naming the schema they belong to but they aren't grouped by it. This 3-level hierarchy (database > object type > objects_from_whichever schema) seems to be extremely insufficient to me. Different schemas under MySQL will probably have nothing to do with each other, and even when they have, they'll be loosely connected. I'd found the hierarchy database > schema > object type > objects_from_that_schema much more adequate, since it's more likely that one would want to source control objects that are tightly related.
