Post can i specify private key for sftp file transfer? Reply with quote
i'm using JAL(win2008r2 24x7mp 5.1.403?) and it looks like the docs are for ftp commands with option to use ftpconfig to change the connection to sftp, but the ftp commands all seem to use user, pass and the sftp file transfers that we want to do are using key authentication not password..just asking before i stupidly try it out...how do i specify a private key? can i swap the 'pass' for the path to the key file or something?

If you cannot do it with JAL. JAL implementation of SSH/SFTP is based on version 1 of the protocol which doesn't support key based authentication.

However, you can use JavaScript which supports key based authentication. Your private key should go to [24x7 home] -> JRE -> lib -> security -> cacert. Nope that user and password might be still required on top of that. If they are not, leave them blank (as empty strings)
