Do not overwrite the config files directly, instead use the Export/Import feature to import needed settings from another computer's file or an older version. This feature will merge selected settings with the settings in the current config file. When importing into a more recent version of SQL Assistant, again, do not select everything, select only snippets and formatting rules you created, this way you will not overwrite new settings and changes specific to the new version.

By the way, version 5.1.7 is very very old and is no longer supported. Please consider upgrading to a more recent version.
