HTML Formatting Problem |
|
I just downloaded the 5.1.395 version of 24x7 MPE and installed it in our Dev environment. In early testing I encountered a problem with sending an e-mail in text/html format. I changed the option for message content type to "text/html" however when I receive the e-mail and check the properties it shows that the e-mail content is text/plain. The body of the e-mail shows all the html table coding as plain text.
We have been using the older 3.4.33 version and it works correctly in that version.
Thanks,
Jeff

Were you able to replicate this problem?
Thanks,
Jeff

Please check what you got in the registry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SoftTree Technologies, Inc.\24x7 Scheduler\5.0\SMTPContents value. Is that "text/html" or something else?

I am not seeing that registry key at all, in fact I see nothing for 24x7 under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE. I found a few entries in registry for Softtree Technologies, Inc but they are settings for 24x7 Screen Saver under HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_USERS.
Is it possible this is caused by the fact that I didn't remove our old 3.4.33 version of 24x7. I just installed the new version in a separate directory. I read on the forum that they could both co-exist for testing.
Thanks,
Jeff

What about values in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\wow6432node registry node? Anything there?

I found entries under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\wow6432node registry node. Looks like the entries for my older 3.4.33 version I'm guessing.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SoftTree Technologies, Inc.\24x7 Scheduler\3.0\SMTPContents it shows a value of "text/html"
I don't see any registry entries for the new 5.1 version.
Thanks,
Jeff

I apologize, I was on our production server when I did that last registry search, it doesn't have the 5.1 version installed on it.
I went back to our development server and found registry entries for both versions:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SoftTree Technologies, Inc.\24x7 Scheduler\3.0\SMTPContents = "text\html"
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SoftTree Technologies, Inc.\24x7 Scheduler\5.0 has far fewer keys and contains no key for SMTPContents. Do you think I should add it manually?
Thanks,
Jeff

Please add that value manually. It should do the trick.

That worked.
Was this caused by me not uninstalling version 3.4.33? I am wondering because I noticed there are several registry values for the old version that weren't created for version 5.1. I want to get the install correct if we go to production with version 5.1.
Thanks
Jeff
