Installation Problem Windows 2008R2

I'm installing the latest 24x7 MP on a Windows 2008 r2 server.
After installation, clicking the master.bat icon does nothing.
I don't believe the JRE 1.6.x run time is installed or configured properly.

Questions
1) Should the JRE install have been done beforehand? The readme that popped up AFTER the install says so.
2) It appears as though the correct JRE is included in the software distribution. How do I get this to install so this works?

Any other help is appreciated.

It does install its own JRE copy into C:\24x7\JRE subfolder. So JRE shouldn't be an issue unless it is somehow blocked by a different process.

To see what the issue is with the master.bat, open DOS command prompt, navigate to the installation folder cd C:\24x7 and from there run cmd /C master,bat
Check what it prints to the console console. That should explain the error. In case if there is an exception of some sort, check debug.log and see what leads to that exception.

I think my problem is resolved. I uninstalled and reinstalled (this time selecting the default location c:\24x7) and it seems to work now.
