External comparison tool issue (Not Found) |
|
SA shows not found for Beyond Compare even though it is installed. The OS is Win 7 x64 Pro and Beyond Compare is installed into "C:\Program Files (x86)\Beyond Compare 3". Is it possible that SA is looking for it in "C:\Program Files\Beyond Compare 3"?

I think it is looking for some registry key, but I'm not 100% sure. You can always override that by specifying the complete command line in the same option value. Choose "Other..." item first and when prompted browse and select the executable in C:\Program Files (x86)\Beyond Compare 3 folder then append %1 %2 to the pasted command line.

I'm still struggling with this one. I had the false impression that I'd be able to use BC3 to compare contents of two editor windows. But I guess that's not the case here since BC3 lacks the ability to dynamically switch sources or to use an editor as source.
But your hint should work for SCS files, I'll try it there. Thank you very much.
